I am smiling in the Phoenix airport because I just accomplished quite a feat! The airport shuttle picked me up at Jeff's house in good time for my international flight to England, then on to Basel, Switzerland. I checked my bag, got my boarding pass, walked the long length of the terminal, and was standing in line for the security check when I realized to my horror that I had left my iPad charging - at Jeff's house!! I decided I couldn't travel without it, so I rushed downstairs to Arrivals, knowing I could get a quick cab, and made a hurried one hour round trip back to Jeff's house. Got back in time...that's why I'm smiling!
I am writing this in the London Heathrow airport while I wait for my connecting flight to Basel, where Angela will be waiting outside customs. It's fun to be in international airports - such a blend of the people of the world. Heathrow is especially interesting now as I try to identify Olympic teams arriving here for the games. I am excited to see Angela, Derek, David and Hannah again! We plan to travel together for two weeks in France. Love, Liz
