Cinda's got our back - window, that is. She is taking her turn at guard duty (just in case we get attacked by a squirrel), while Sheila is catching a few ZZZ's after our long walk in the woods. There is a lot to be sniffed out there! We are camped this June day in Pineknot Campground, a National Forest Park in Big Bear, and enjoying a cool, pine scented breeze.
This is more than just a camping trip, it is also a camping manners retreat. The Girls must learn to sit and stay at the door of the van, while I calmly put on their choke collars and leashes. We also practice "sit, stay, and come" commands while in the outdoor environment.
Last weekend I joined Eva Kinsman and Laurette Hill here in Big Bear, staying at the Kinsman's condo, which happens to be very close to this wonderful campground in the National Forest. The campground appeared empty last weekend, so I took my chances and came with no reservations. I need not to have worried, there is only one other campsite occupied! I think this place is a well kept secret! love, Liz
